Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Dry yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cups Warm water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 0.5 cups Dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 5 cloves Garlic cloves, roasted and mashed
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and dry yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5–10 minutes, or until the mixture becomes frothy.

Step 2

Add olive oil, dry white wine, and roasted mashed garlic to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Step 5

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Step 6

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 7

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a round or oval loaf. Place it onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 8

Cover the loaf loosely with plastic wrap or a towel and let it rise for another 20–30 minutes.

Step 9

Using a sharp knife, score the top of the loaf with a few shallow slashes to allow for expansion during baking.

Step 10

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Step 11

Remove the bread from the oven and immediately brush the melted butter over the crust. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, if desired.

Step 12

Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
