Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground chicken
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 3 cloves, minced Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper if baking the chicken balls. Alternatively, you can pan-fry them.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix thoroughly.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, fresh cilantro, curry powder, cumin powder, ground coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.

Step 4

Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into bite-sized balls, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. This should yield approximately 18-20 chicken balls.

Step 5

If baking, arrange the chicken balls on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 74°C (165°F).

Step 6

If pan-frying, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the chicken balls in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and nicely browned.

Step 7

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, over rice, or with a side of vegetables. Enjoy!
