Ingredients

  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Prepare the ribs by removing the membrane from the back of the racks for optimal tenderness. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create the dry rub.

Step 4

Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub, massaging it into the meat.

Step 5

Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil to seal in moisture, and place them on a baking sheet meat-side up.

Step 6

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and begins to pull back from the bones.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce by combining the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, liquid smoke, and ground mustard in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently and simmer for about 10 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step 8

After 2 hours of baking, carefully remove the ribs from the oven and discard the foil. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over both sides of the ribs.

Step 9

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or set your oven broiler to high.

Step 10

Grill the ribs for 5-10 minutes per side, or broil them in the oven for 5-7 minutes, basting with barbecue sauce as needed, until the sauce is caramelized and slightly charred.

Step 11

Remove the ribs from the grill or broiler, let them rest for 5 minutes, and slice into individual ribs.

Step 12

Serve warm with extra barbecue sauce on the side, and enjoy your Cupid’s Barbecue Ribs!
