  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine the ground flaxseed and water. Stir well and set aside for 5 minutes to allow it to gel.

In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving a few whole beans for texture.
