Ingredients

  • 500 grams broccoli florets
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 grams cottage cheese
  • 100 grams cheddar cheese, grated
  • 125 milliliters milk
  • 30 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter or cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) pie dish with butter or cooking spray and set aside.

Step 2

Steam or blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, until they are tender but still bright green. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, cottage cheese, milk, and grated cheddar cheese until well combined.

Step 4

Sift in the flour and mix thoroughly to ensure there are no lumps. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Arrange the cooked broccoli florets evenly in the prepared pie dish.

Step 6

Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the broccoli, making sure it is evenly distributed.

Step 7

Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the pie is golden on top and set in the center. You can test for doneness by inserting a knife into the center—if it comes out clean, it’s ready.

Step 8

Allow the pie to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
