Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9x9 inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes using a hand mixer or stand mixer.
Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in the molasses until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in three additions, alternating with the boiling water, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix each addition just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Gently fold in the orange marmalade until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
