Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Pork baby back ribs
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons Smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1.5 cups Barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar

Directions

Step 1

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to ensure they cook evenly and are more tender.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using) to make the dry rub.

Step 3

Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel, then rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

Step 4

Cut the ribs into 3-4 sections so they fit easily into your slow cooker.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar. Set aside.

Step 6

Place a layer of ribs in the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with a drizzle of the barbecue sauce mixture. Repeat layers until all ribs are in the slow cooker.

Step 7

Pour any remaining barbecue sauce over the top of the ribs.

Step 8

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the ribs are tender and easily pull apart with a fork.

Step 9

Optional: Preheat your oven to broil. Transfer the ribs to a baking sheet lined with foil. Brush additional barbecue sauce on top and broil for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes.

Step 10

Serve warm with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.
