Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 pound Ground pork sausage (spicy or mild)
  • 16 ounces Velveeta cheese
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 10 ounces Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies (undrained)
  • 15 ounces Canned black beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 4 ounces Chopped green chilies (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 0 Tortilla chips (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and pork sausage until fully browned, breaking it into crumbles with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease and set aside.

Step 2

Cut the Velveeta cheese and cream cheese into small cubes for easier melting.

Step 3

In a crock pot, add the browned meats, Velveeta cheese, cream cheese, Rotel diced tomatoes with their juice, black beans, and optional green chilies.

Step 4

Sprinkle the ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder over the mixture.

Step 5

Stir all the ingredients in the crock pot until roughly combined.

Step 6

Cover the crock pot with its lid and cook on low heat for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure even melting and mixing.

Step 7

Once fully melted and heated through, give the dip one final stir to ensure it's smooth and creamy.

Step 8

Switch the crock pot to the 'warm' setting and serve directly from it with tortilla chips on the side.
