Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Chicken wings
  • 1 cup Hot sauce (e.g., Frank's RedHot)
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Oil spray or olive oil (for broiling)
  • 2 tbsp Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry with a paper towel. If needed, remove wing tips or separate drumettes and flats.

Step 2

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the hot sauce, unsalted butter, honey, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 3

Place the chicken wings into the crock pot. Pour the sauce over the wings, making sure they are evenly coated.

Step 4

Cover the crock pot and set it to low heat. Cook for 4 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure even coating and cooking.

Step 5

Preheat the oven broiler to high. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it with oil spray or olive oil.

Step 6

Using tongs, carefully transfer the cooked wings from the crock pot to the prepared baking sheet. Reserve the sauce from the crock pot for basting or dipping.

Step 7

Broil the wings for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

Step 8

Remove the wings from the oven and brush them with some of the reserved sauce, if desired.

Step 9

Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if using. Pair with blue cheese or ranch dressing and celery sticks for a classic wings experience.
