Ingredients

  • 6 medium Russet potatoes
  • 2 cups Ham
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 as needed Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly (about 1/8-inch thick). Set them aside in cold water to prevent browning.

Step 2

Dice the ham into small, bite-sized pieces.

Step 3

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.

Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure to avoid lumps. Continue to cook and stir for 4-5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
