Ingredients

  • 4 whole Fresh artichokes
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 2 whole Lemon
  • 2 cups Water
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

1. Prepare the artichokes: Trim the stems so the artichokes can sit flat. Remove tough outer leaves and use kitchen shears to trim the sharp tips of the remaining leaves. Slice 1 lemon in half and rub each trimmed artichoke to prevent browning.

2. Slice the trimmed artichokes in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scrape out the fuzzy choke from the center of each half.
