Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the flank steak with salt and black pepper. Sear the steak in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Chop the onion and mince the garlic. In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Transfer the seared flank steak, onions, and garlic to a crock pot.
Add the beef broth, diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, and a pinch of additional salt and pepper to the crock pot. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the flank steak is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
About 15 minutes before the steak is finished, cook the linguini according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Remove the steak from the crock pot and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded steak to the sauce and stir well.
To serve, place cooked linguini on plates and top with the flank steak and sauce mixture.
Garnish with grated parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
