Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons green onions (optional, chopped for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in the crock pot.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt to make the sauce.

Step 3

Pour the sauce over the chicken wings, ensuring they are well coated.

Step 4

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2.5 hours, stirring once halfway through to evenly coat the wings with sauce.

Step 5

Once cooked, use tongs to carefully remove the chicken wings and place them on a broiler-safe baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Pour the slurry into the sauce left in the crock pot and whisk until it thickens (this should take about 5 minutes on the high heat setting).

Step 7

Brush the thickened sauce generously over the wings.

Step 8

Optional: Broil the wings in the oven on high for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce caramelizes slightly and the wings develop a crispy texture.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve hot.
