Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 1 large Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 8 buns Burger buns
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 0 Optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well incorporated.

Step 2

Form the mixture into 8 even-sized burger patties.

Step 3

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly sear each patty for 1-2 minutes per side. This step is optional but helps to seal in the juices and adds a nice crust.

Step 4

Place the seared burgers in the bottom of your crock pot in a single layer, slightly overlapping if necessary.

Step 5

Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the burgers reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C).

Step 6

About 10 minutes before serving, place one slice of cheddar cheese on each patty in the crock pot. Cover and let the cheese melt.

Step 7

While the cheese melts, lightly toast the burger buns in a skillet or oven. Spread a thin layer of butter on the cut sides of the buns for added flavor.

Step 8

Assemble the cheeseburgers by placing each patty onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Add your favorite toppings as desired, then place the top bun on each burger.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious slow-cooked Crock Pot Cheeseburgers!
