  • 3 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the beef brisket dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the brisket and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
