Ingredients

  • 12 sheets Spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup (finely shredded) Cabbage
  • 1 cup (thinly julienned) Carrot
  • 1 cup (thinly sliced) Bell pepper
  • 1 cup Bean sprouts
  • 2 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon (minced) Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 cups Cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon (mixed with 2 tablespoons of water) Cornstarch

Directions

Step 1

Heat sesame oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add minced garlic and ginger and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 3

Add cabbage, carrot, bell pepper, and bean sprouts to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the vegetables are just softened.

Step 4

Stir in soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Step 5

Lay one spring roll wrapper on a flat surface, with a corner pointed towards you (like a diamond).

Place 2 tablespoons of the vegetable filling in a line approximately 2 inches from the corner closest to you.

Fold the corner over the filling and roll tightly halfway up the wrapper.

Fold the sides snugly against the roll, then continue to roll the wrapper.
