Ingredients

  • 500 grams Potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh parsley
  • 50 grams Grated parmesan cheese
  • 150 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 500 milliliters Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Peel and dice the potatoes. Boil them in salted water until they are soft, about 15 minutes.

Step 2

Drain the potatoes and mash them in a large bowl until smooth. Allow them to cool slightly.

Step 3

To the mashed potatoes, add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, and grated parmesan cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Step 4

Shape the mashed potato mixture into small balls, about the size of a ping pong ball.

Step 5

Set up a breading station: place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third dish.

Step 6

Roll each potato ball first in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Make sure each ball is evenly coated.

Step 7

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. To test if the oil is ready, drop a breadcrumb into the oil; if it sizzles and turns golden brown, the oil is hot enough.

Step 8

Carefully add the potato balls to the hot oil in batches, without overcrowding the pan. Fry them for 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Remove the potato balls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Step 10

Serve the potato balls hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
