Ingredients

  • 2 cans (5-ounce each) Canned tuna
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Extra breadcrumbs (for coating)

Directions

Step 1

Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and transfer to a mixing bowl. Flake the tuna with a fork to break it into small pieces.

Step 2

Add the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.

Step 3

Mix all the ingredients together until evenly combined. The mixture should hold together when formed into a ball. If it’s too dry, add a bit more mayonnaise; if it’s too wet, add more breadcrumbs.

Step 4

Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a plate or tray.

Step 5

Roll each tuna ball in the extra breadcrumbs until fully coated. This will create a crispy crust when fried.

Step 6

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan over medium heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking (about 350°F or 175°C).

Step 7

Carefully add the tuna balls to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 8

Fry the tuna balls for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Remove the fried tuna balls with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 10

Serve the crisp tuna balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon. Enjoy!
