  • 0.5 teaspoons Cream of tartar
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar (for rolling)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until fully incorporated.
