  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the dried red beans under cold water and soak them in a large bowl filled with water for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Drain and rinse the soaked beans, then set them aside.

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the smoked sausage slices and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage and set aside.
