Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a golden crust. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4

Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let the mixture simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the heavy cream, orange juice, lemon juice, orange zest, and lemon zest. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 6

Return the pork chops to the skillet along with any juices that have accumulated on the plate. Spoon some of the sauce over the chops.

Step 7

Lower the heat to a gentle simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes until the pork chops are fully cooked and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 8

Garnish the creamy citrus sauce pork chops with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Step 9

Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
