Ingredients

  • 500 grams carrots
  • 30 grams unsalted butter
  • 60 ml heavy cream
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Peel the carrots and cut them into even-sized chunks, about 2-3 cm in length, to ensure uniform cooking.

In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and the carrot chunks.

Cook the carrots in the boiling water for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
