Ingredients

  • 500 grams Brussels sprouts
  • 3 medium Shallots
  • 200 ml Heavy cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 30 grams Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Nutmeg (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the Brussels sprouts by trimming the stems, removing any yellowed leaves, and cutting them in half.

Step 2

Peel and thinly slice the shallots. Mince the garlic.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and bubbly.

Step 4

Add the sliced shallots to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and slightly caramelized.

Step 5

Add the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the Brussels sprouts to the skillet, cut side down. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes without stirring to allow the cut sides to brown.

Step 7

Flip the Brussels sprouts using tongs and cook for another 4-5 minutes until they are tender and golden brown on both sides.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to coat the Brussels sprouts and shallots evenly.

Step 9

Grate in the Parmesan cheese and stir until it is fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy.

Step 10

If desired, sprinkle in a pinch of nutmeg for added depth of flavor.

Step 11

Taste and adjust with additional salt or pepper as needed.

Step 12

Remove from heat and transfer the creamy Brussels sprouts with shallots to a serving dish. Serve warm and enjoy!
