Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 pound Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 8 ounces Button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup Sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1.5 cups White rice, uncooked
  • 3 cups Water

Directions

Step 1

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Season the sliced beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Add the beef to the skillet and sear until browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until tender and browned.
