Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (5-6 ounces each) Whitefish fillets
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup (grated) Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (chopped) Fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 2

Pat the whitefish fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 3

Lightly dredge the seasoned fillets in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess flour.

Step 4

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until frothy. Sear the whitefish fillets for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly golden. Transfer the fillets to the prepared baking dish in a single layer.

Step 5

In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and let it warm through, but do not let it boil. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and half of the chopped parsley. Continue stirring until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.

Step 6

Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the fish fillets in the baking dish.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and garnish with the remaining parsley.

Step 9

Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or crusty bread.
