Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup Dried cranberries
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 small Shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Sliced tomato
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise or cranberry mayo (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, dried cranberries, panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped shallot, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix as this can lead to tough burgers.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4-inch thick.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties to the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd.

Step 4

Cook the turkey burgers for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness.

Step 5

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in another skillet or in a toaster if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise or cranberry mayo (if using) on the bottom halves of the buns, followed by a lettuce leaf, a cooked turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and the top half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as sweet potato fries or a crisp salad.
