Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (or frozen)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup water

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh (or frozen) cranberries and water. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer.

Step 2

Cook the cranberries until they begin to pop and soften, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, ground cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to the saucepan.

Step 4

Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Step 6

Once the cranberries have completely softened and the sauce has thickened, remove it from the heat.

Step 7

Transfer the sauce to a blender or use an immersion blender to puree it until smooth. Be cautious, as the mixture will be hot.

Step 8

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more honey for sweetness or vinegar for tanginess.

Step 9

Let the sauce cool completely before transferring it to a jar or airtight container.

Step 10

Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks and use as desired.
