Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cooked crabmeat or canned salmon (drained and flaked, bones removed if using salmon)
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter (for frying)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the crabmeat or salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 2

Form the mixture into 4 to 6 patties, depending on the desired size.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil or butter over medium heat.

Step 4

Once the oil is shimmering (or the butter is melted and slightly bubbling), gently place the patties into the skillet. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 5

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.

Step 6

Transfer the cooked patties to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 7

Serve the patties warm with a side of tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or over a fresh salad. Enjoy!
