Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry sheets
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium (finely diced) yellow onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp (peeled, deveined, and chopped)
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 0.5 teaspoons paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 large (beaten with 1 tbsp water for egg wash) egg

Directions

Step 1

Defrost the puff pastry sheets according to the package instructions. Keep them chilled until ready to use.

Step 2

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Stir in the chopped shrimp and crab meat, cooking for 2-3 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat.

Step 6

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked seafood mixture with the softened cream cheese, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 7

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each puff pastry sheet and cut into four equal squares (eight pieces total).

Step 8

Place a heaping tablespoon of the seafood mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.

Step 9

Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a packet. Pinch the seams to seal and place each packet seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 10

Brush the tops of the pastry packets with the egg wash to ensure a golden, shiny finish.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Step 12

Remove from the oven and let the pastry cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 13

Serve warm, garnished with extra chopped parsley if desired. Pair with a crisp salad or your favorite side dish for a complete meal.
