Ingredients

  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz Crab meat (lump or imitation), finely chopped
  • 2 pieces Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 24 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup Fresh pineapple, finely diced
  • 0.25 cup Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce (for dipping sauce)
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Step 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture to the center of the wonton.

Step 3

Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper lightly with water, then fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal, ensuring no air is trapped inside. Optionally, pinch the two longer edges together to create a more decorative shape. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

Step 4

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place a few wontons in the oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove using a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with the remaining wontons.

Step 5

To make the dipping sauce, combine the diced pineapple, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and lime juice in a small bowl. Mix until well combined.

Step 6

Serve the crab rangoons warm with the pineapple chile dipping sauce on the side.
