Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Lump crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 medium Shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 large Egg, lightly beaten

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the shallot until softened, about 3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Transfer the cooked shallot and garlic mixture to a mixing bowl and let it cool slightly.

Step 5

Gently fold in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break it apart too much.

Step 6

Add the parsley, breadcrumbs, lemon zest, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the bowl and gently mix until combined.

Step 7

Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and add the lightly beaten egg. Stir to bind the dressing together, but avoid over-mixing.

Step 8

Lay out the fish fillets (such as cod, haddock, or flounder) in a greased baking dish.

Step 9

Press about 2-3 tablespoons of the crab dressing onto each fillet, spreading it evenly across the top.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 11

Remove from the oven, garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
