Ingredients

  • 300 grams Fresh crab meat
  • 50 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 stalk Green onion
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 4 tablespoons Tartar sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, panko breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, finely chopped green onion, chopped parsley, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Step 2

Divide the crab mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1.5 cm thick. Place the patties on a plate and let them chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to firm up.

Step 3

While the patties are chilling, slice the tomato into thin rounds and set aside. Also, prepare the lettuce leaves and toast the burger buns lightly if desired.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the vegetable oil. Once hot, gently place the crab patties into the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5

Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a plate lined with paper towels for a minute or two to absorb excess oil.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers: Spread 1 tablespoon of tartar sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a crab patty, and more tartar sauce if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately or wrap tightly in parchment paper or foil for a delicious crab burger to go!
