Ingredients

  • 12 oz Penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 3 cups Whole milk
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Chopped parsley

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Step 2

Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 4

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 5

Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to create a roux.

Step 6

Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses, one at a time, until fully melted.

Step 8

Season the cheese sauce with garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika.

Step 9

Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is fully coated.

Step 10

Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 11

In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the pasta.

Step 12

Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Step 13

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Step 14

Serve hot and enjoy!
