Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Country style pork ribs
  • 1 large Onion
  • 3 large Garlic cloves
  • 1.5 cups Barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Peel and slice the large onion into thin rings. Peel and mince the garlic cloves.

Step 2

Rub the pork ribs with paprika, ground black pepper, and salt on all sides.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned. This step helps lock in the flavor.

Step 4

Place a layer of sliced onions on the bottom of the Crock Pot. Add the minced garlic on top of the onions.

Step 5

Transfer the seared ribs to the Crock Pot, arranging them evenly on top of the onion and garlic layer.

Step 6

In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar until smooth. Pour the mixture over the ribs, ensuring all pieces are coated.

Step 7

Cover the Crock Pot with its lid and set it to low heat. Cook for 6 hours, or until the ribs are fork-tender and fully cooked.

Step 8

Once done, carefully remove the ribs from the Crock Pot using tongs, as they will be very tender.

Step 9

Optional: Serve the ribs with extra sauce from the Crock Pot drizzled on top, alongside your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.
