Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 8 pieces Hot dogs
  • 1 pound Pizza dough
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk. Gradually stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until smooth to create a batter. Set aside.

Step 3

Roll out the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8-inch thick. Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into long strips, approximately 1/2-inch wide.

Wrap each hot dog with a strip of pizza dough, spiraling it around the hot dog from one end to the other. Lightly press the ends to seal.
