Ingredients

  • 1 lb (peeled and deveined) Shrimp
  • 4 ears (cut into thirds) Corn on the cob
  • 1.5 lb (halved) Red potatoes
  • 12 oz (sliced into 1-inch pieces) Smoked sausage
  • 3 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 whole (quartered) Lemon
  • 4 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 2 pieces Bay leaves
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Chopped parsley

Directions

Step 1

In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add the salt, Old Bay seasoning, minced garlic, bay leaves, and lemon quarters (squeezing the juice into the water before adding the rinds). Stir well to combine.

Step 3

Once the water is boiling, add the halved red potatoes and cook for 10 minutes or until they begin to soften.

Step 4

Add the corn pieces and smoked sausage slices to the pot, and cook for another 7-8 minutes until the corn is tender.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium and add the shrimp. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Step 6

Turn off the heat and carefully drain the liquid from the pot, leaving the cooked ingredients in the pot.

Step 7

Add the unsalted butter to the pot and stir gently to coat all the ingredients.

Step 8

Season with additional ground black pepper, if desired, and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for garnish.

Step 9

Transfer the mixture to a large serving dish or serve directly from the pot. Enjoy!
