Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the bowl, mixing until fully combined.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Using a spatula, fold in the chocolate chips and optional chopped walnuts, if using.

Step 7

Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked.

Step 9

Remove the baking sheets from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Enjoy your warm, homemade Copycat Mrs. Fields' Chocolate Chip Cookies!
