Ingredients

  • 8 cups (finely chopped) Green cabbage
  • 0.25 cup (finely grated) Carrots
  • 2 tablespoons (minced) Onion
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup Whole milk
  • 0.25 cup Buttermilk
  • 0.33 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2.5 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1.5 tablespoons White vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon Ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the green cabbage either by hand or using a food processor. Aim for the same size pieces as KFC coleslaw. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Grate the carrots finely and add them to the bowl with the cabbage.

Step 3

Add the minced onion to the bowl and mix the vegetables together well.

Step 4

In a separate medium-sized bowl, prepare the dressing by combining the mayonnaise, whole milk, buttermilk, sugar, lemon juice, white vinegar, salt, and ground black pepper. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

Step 5

Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture. Stir well to ensure all the vegetables are evenly coated in the dressing.

Step 6

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the coleslaw to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 7

Before serving, give the coleslaw another stir to evenly distribute the dressing. Serve chilled as a side dish.
