Ingredients

  • 500 grams Napa cabbage
  • 3 stalks Scallions (white and green parts separated)
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 10 grams Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil

Directions

Step 1

Thoroughly rinse the napa cabbage and separate the leaves. Cut the leaves into bite-sized pieces, separating the thicker white stems from the tender green tops.

Step 2

Slice the scallion whites into 2-inch pieces and finely chop the green parts. Mince the garlic cloves and thinly slice the ginger.

Step 3

Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the scallion whites, ginger, and garlic. Stir-fry for 30 seconds or until aromatic, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 5

Add the white stems of the napa cabbage to the wok. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.

Step 6

Add the green leafy parts of the cabbage and continue stir-frying for another 2 minutes.

Step 7

Pour in the light soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir well to evenly coat the cabbage with the sauce.

Step 8

Season with salt and white pepper, adjusting to taste.

Step 9

Drizzle the sesame oil over the cabbage and give it one final toss to combine.

Step 10

Remove from heat and sprinkle the scallion greens over the dish for garnish. Serve hot as a side dish with steamed rice or your favorite protein.
