Ingredients

  • 4 cups green cabbage
  • 2 cups red cabbage
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 0.5 cups pecans
  • 0.5 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Thinly slice the green and red cabbage using a sharp knife or a mandoline. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Shred the carrots using a grater or food processor and add them to the bowl with the cabbage.

Step 3

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the pecans for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they become fragrant and lightly golden. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Step 4

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, hot sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to make the spicy dressing.

Step 5

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss well to coat evenly.

Step 6

Roughly chop the toasted pecans and sprinkle them over the coleslaw. Gently mix to distribute the pecans, reserving a few for garnish if desired.

Step 7

Cover the bowl and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 8

Serve chilled and enjoy!
