Ingredients

  • 500 grams Raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 large Egg white
  • 100 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 500 milliliters Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 120 milliliters Cocktail sauce (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a food processor, combine the raw shrimp, minced garlic, green onion, soy sauce, grated ginger, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and egg white.

Step 2

Pulse the mixture until it forms a smooth, sticky paste. Be careful not to over-process.

Step 3

Using wet hands, scoop about 1 tablespoon of the shrimp mixture and shape it into a round ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used up.

Step 4

Spread the panko breadcrumbs on a plate. Roll each shrimp ball in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to 180°C (350°F).
