Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 0.5 cup Grape jelly
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and lightly browned.

Step 5

While the meatballs bake, prepare the sauce. In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, combine the ketchup, grape jelly, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sauce is smooth and heated through.

Step 6

Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to the skillet with the sauce. Gently toss to coat the meatballs evenly in the sauce.

Step 7

Lower the heat to a simmer and cook the meatballs in the sauce for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 8

Serve the cocktail meatballs warm, either straight from the skillet or using toothpicks for easy serving. They pair wonderfully with party appetizers or as a main course with rice or pasta.
