Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red onion
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 wooden skewers

Directions

Step 1

Cut the beef sirloin into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Slice the red and green bell peppers into 1-inch pieces. Peel and quarter the red onion, then separate it into layers.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade.

Step 4

Add the beef cubes to the marinade and stir until the beef is well coated. Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Step 5

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill.

Step 6

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Step 7

Thread the marinated beef, bell peppers, and onion pieces onto the skewers, alternating between the meat and vegetables.

Step 8

Once the grill is hot, place the skewers on the grill. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked through and the vegetables are charred and tender.

Step 9

Remove from the grill and let the skewers rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 10

Serve the shish kebabs with your favorite accompaniments, such as rice, salad, or flatbread.
