Ingredients

  • 150 grams Rolled oats
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 100 grams Unsalted butter
  • 150 grams Light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Milk

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and light brown sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. This should take about 3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and egg to the butter-sugar mixture, then mix until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Add the milk to the dough and stir until the dough comes together. It should be slightly sticky.

Step 7

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each biscuit.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Step 9

Remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes.

Step 10

Transfer the oat biscuits to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
