Ingredients

  • 4 slices Liverwurst
  • 4 slices Whole grain bread
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 Lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 small Red onion
  • 4 slices Pickles
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Slice the tomato and red onion thinly and set them aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard and mayonnaise to create a creamy mustard spread.

Step 3

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Place the slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet. Toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the bread from the skillet. Spread the mustard-mayo mixture on the untoasted sides of the bread.

Step 7

Layer 2 slices of liverwurst on each of two slices of bread.
