Ingredients

  • 1 piece English muffin
  • 1 piece Large egg
  • 1 slice Cheddar cheese slice
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil or cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil or spray with cooking spray.

Step 2

While the skillet is heating, split the English muffin in half and toast it in a toaster or toaster oven until golden brown.

Step 3

In the skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes for sunny side up, or until the whites are set and the yolk is cooked to your liking. Optionally, flip the egg to cook on both sides if desired.

Step 4

Season the egg with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

Step 5

Once the English muffin is toasted, place the slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of the muffin while still warm so the cheese begins to melt slightly.

Step 6

Gently place the cooked egg on top of the cheese slice.

Step 7

Cover with the top half of the English muffin.

Step 8

Serve the English muffin sandwich immediately for a warm, cheesy, and delicious breakfast.
