Ingredients

  • 6 pieces White or whole wheat bread slices
  • 8 ounces Cooked turkey breast slices
  • 6 strips Bacon
  • 4 leaves Romaine or iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium, sliced Tomato
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Butter

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add the bacon strips and cook until crispy, approximately 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the bacon and let it rest on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Step 2

Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread. Place the slices buttered-side down in the skillet and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

Step 3

Lay out all six slices of toasted bread. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly over the unbuttered side of each slice.

Step 4

To assemble the first layer, place two slices of turkey on two of the bread slices, followed by a piece of lettuce and 2-3 slices of tomato. Sprinkle lightly with salt and black pepper.

Step 5

On each of those layers, place a second slice of bread with the mayonnaise side facing down, then layer three bacon strips on top, followed by another layer of lettuce and two more turkey slices.

Step 6

Finish with the last piece of bread, mayonnaise side down.

Step 7

Carefully cut each sandwich diagonally into quarters and secure with sandwich picks to keep the layers intact.

Step 8
