Ingredients

  • 5 oz Champagne or sparkling wine
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 piece Sugar cube
  • 1 piece Lemon or orange twist

Directions

Step 1

Chill a champagne flute in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until cold. Alternatively, place ice in the glass and remove it before starting.

Step 2

Place a single sugar cube in the bottom of the chilled champagne flute.

Step 3

Add two dashes of Angostura bitters directly onto the sugar cube, allowing the cube to soak up the bitters.

Step 4

Slowly pour 5 oz of chilled champagne or sparkling wine into the glass. Pour carefully to preserve the bubbles and avoid overflow.

Step 5

Garnish the cocktail with a lemon or orange twist by holding the twist above the glass to release its oils before dropping it in or hanging it on the rim.

Step 6

Serve immediately and enjoy your Classic Champagne Cocktail.
