Ingredients

  • 250 grams Pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
  • 75 grams Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 120 ml Pasta cooking water

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the salt to the boiling water.

Step 2

Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 120 ml of pasta cooking water before draining.

Step 3

While the pasta is cooking, finely chop the garlic cloves.

Step 4

In a large non-stick pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden, being careful not to burn it.

Step 5

Add the cooked pasta directly into the pan with the melted butter and garlic.

Step 6

Add the reserved pasta cooking water and toss the pasta to help the butter emulsify and coat the pasta evenly.

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and continue to toss until the cheese melts and coats the pasta.
