Ingredients

  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 quarts water
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil in a large pot. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the boiling water.

Step 2

Add 12 ounces of egg noodles to the pot and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 7-8 minutes, until they are al dente.

Step 3

While the noodles are cooking, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat.

Step 4

Once the noodles are cooked, drain them in a colander, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Step 5

Return the drained noodles to the pot and pour the melted butter over them. Toss gently to coat the noodles evenly with butter.

Add 0.5 teaspoon of garlic powder, 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper, and 0.5 cup of grated parmesan cheese to the noodles. Toss everything together, using a small amount of reserved pasta water to help the cheese melt and coat the noodles if needed.

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley over the noodles and give them a final toss to distribute evenly.
